Program Overview
Open to Goucher Business majors and minors, this program will take place at
African Leadership University. ALU is a pan-African university based on the island nation of Mauritius. ALU is a world-class tertiary education institution that is developing Africa’s future leaders.
Businesses today are expanding internationally more frequently and earlier in their evolution as operating in global markets become the business norm. This course examines the decision making process for enterprises as they consider overseas expansion including current trends in internationalization, foreign direct investment criteria, and vehicles for overseas growth (licensing agreements, strategic alliances, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, greenfield investment). Classwork will be supplemented by on site visits of local businesses. Students will explore the island and participate in excursions to local Mauritius sites. The program will be open to students from ALU.
Eligibility, Prerequisites, and Academic Credit
Open to Goucher Business majors and minors in good academic standing in all courses (above a 2.0 GPA). Sophomore standing and permission of instructor are required. Students will receive three credits for the three-week intensive course in Mauritius.

August 21, 2017: Application & $50 application fee due
September 1, 2017: $500 non-refundable deposit is due
September 22, 2017: Final payment due
Program Costs
The tentative cost of the program is $4600. This fee includes airfare, room, board and tuition. This information is accurate at time of publication, but is subject to change.
Financial Aid
All students are eligible to apply for
OIS scholarships via separate application
here. Students who qualify for the voucher are able to apply the voucher to the cost of the program.
Passport
